Summer has officially arrived, and there’s no better place to be in Montreal than outdoors. Whether your kids are at camp, keeping busy at mom/dad camp, or just hanging out, there are plenty of festivals, events and outings to make the most of every single summer day. Here’s my roundup of the best activities in Montreal with kids July 2026 has to offer.

It’s the 40th anniversary of our annual firework tradition. 2026 will feature performances from Hungary, Italy, China, Canada, the US and more. A general admission ticket to the theme park is needed to view the fireworks on site. Or pick a location in the Old Port to watch the displays from a distance.

The circus festival is back in Montreal with a packed itinerary of shows taking place at various locations throughout the city. The 17th edition has something for everyone, but the most family-friendly activity may be La Circothèque – located at the BAnQ site, at the corner of Ontario East and Berri. Daily circus workshops include circus arts, fire sticks, clowning and more. Free.

The firefighter festival is back at Angrignon Park. The highlight of the event is a race with three distance options including 1km, 5km and 10km. Sign up in advance and be sure to pick the option with a medal. The event also includes a firefighter circuit, BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting, and an antique firetruck show. Entry is free, race participation $30+.
