Hopefully April showers won’t bring freezing rain for too much longer and we can start enjoying spring weather soon. Whether indoors or outdoors, this month has lots of fun activities to enjoy as a family with plenty of entertainment to make Montreal with kids in April 2026 a great one!

Easter Egg Hunt – April 3-6 and 11-12

Celebrate Easter on the farm with a fun egg hunt that includes 10 different stations where kids will get chocolate through a chute – perfect for catching in their baskets. The Easter Bunny will be on site, as well as the farm animals. Plus each guest gets a handmade chocolate lollipop. Reservations required. $11/per child, $5 admission for adults.

Citizen Spring – April 4-26

The Montreal Botanical Garden is celebrating a month full of environmental citizenship with activities taking place each weekend at the Frederick Back Tree Pavilion. The four weekends feature unique themes like “consuming differently” and ” the yummy side of the transition” featuring lessons about edible flowers, workshops making beeswax food wrap or origami crafts, foraging and much more. Entry is free.

Montreal Clown Festival – April 10-18

Now in its 9th edition, this festival is not joking around. It features various clown workshops and shows that are fit for both young and old alike. One show that may appeal to audiences – Les p’tites polisses en servisse – is taking place on April 11 at 3pm at Maison de la Culture Claude-Léveillée. It is a non-verbal (language free) show for all ages.

Les Sucres Jean Talon Market – April 11

Maple season is upon us and the markets are celebrating. This one-day event at the Jean Talon market will feature maple taffy on snow, maple cocktails and mocktails, as well as a sugar shack-style menu. Kids will enjoy inflatable and giant games, traditional dance and music performances! The event takes place from 10am to 5pm and entry is free.

Snow White – April 16-26

Geordie Theatre will be putting on a production of Snow White, taking place at the Centaur Theatre. Just two actors will be playing all roles – from the 7 dwarves to the huntsman – in this entertaining play for kids 6+. This isn’t your typical Snow White story with lots of laughs and an ending that does not leave her waiting around to be rescued. Tickets range between $19-$37.

Harlem Globetrotters – April 17-18

Celebrating an amazing 100 years, the Harlem Globetrotters are back for a very special tour that will stop in Montreal for two days. Taking place at the Bell Centre, the first show is on April 17th at 7pm and the second on April 18th at 2pm. Tickets start at $42.25.

Raffi – April 18-19

Get ready for Baby Beluga and Banana Phone, as this favourite kids’ entertainer comes to Montreal’s Place des Arts for two shows. Both shows take place at 2pm and there are still tickets in the lower price bracket ($65) available.

Pond Skimming Events – Throughout the Month

Ski season is coming to an end so it’s time to put on your costumes and glide down the hill into a pond. Or better yet, watch other skiers/boarders do it! Here are a few upcoming pond skimming events taking place near Montreal:

April 4 – Mont Sutton
April 11 – Stowe Mountain
April 18 – Jay Peak
April 18 – Mont St Sauveur
