Montreal with Kids November 2026
Don’t let the darker evenings get you down. Even though the days are getting colder and shorter, and it’s that funny month where outdoor activities aren’t really happening before the snow, there’s a bit of holiday magic already in the air. From artisan markets to the arrival of festive events, Montreal has something for everyone. Discover my list of the top activities and events in Montreal with kids that November 2026 has to offer.
Curiosity Runs in the Family – November 7
The Montreal Science Museum is hosting a multigenerational day of exploration. All of the amazing exhibits will be available to people of all ages for the kids’ entry price of $27 (instead of $37). They’re coining it as the perfect day to bring along grandparents to discover STEM activities from coding to quizzes to family Olympics.
Salon National des Animaux de Compagnie – November 7-8
If you’ve ever contemplated getting a family pet this show may be right for you. Or if you already have one, it’s the perfect place to get them a little present. Hundreds of animals will be on-site, including dogs, cats and more exotic animals like snakes and porcupines. Over 200 exhibitors will be in attendance, too. The show is being held at the Olympic Stadium, and tickets range between $13.50-$17.50 and kids under 5 are free.
Family Workshops @ Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art – November 7 & 21
A great indoor weekend activity idea. The museum is hosting various art workshops for families, designed for kids 8+. On November 7th, Sierra Barber, an upper Mohawk artist, will be leading a flower beading workshop. On November 21st, Miri Check will be leading a collective carpet-making workshop. Registration is required in advance and kids are free to attend.
Great Christmas Market – November 13 – January 3
The holidays are officially here when the Christmas market sets up at Quartier des Spectacles. You have plenty of time to discover this one and may even want to go back during the winter break. Our family visited last year in December and enjoyed the hot chocolate, churros and live music. But if you go now, you can also get ready for the holidays with some amazing local gift vendors. Plus, there are free activities and tons of delicious (yet slightly overpriced) snacks.
A Day to Celebrate in Pyjamas – November 14
The McCord Museum is also kicking off the holiday season as it unveils the infamous Oglivy holiday windows. This one-day special event is offering free activities – in your pyjamas – including hide and seek games, storytelling sessions, musical performances and more. Book a time slot from 9am-5pm in advance. Tickets are free.

At the first goal scored by the hometown team, fans are invited to toss stuffies on to the ice that will be donated to kids. The goal is to break the current record of 12.5K stuffies!
