You may be dreading the month of June, one of the busiest of the year, filled with school parties, graduations, recitals camp packing, and more. But you should definitely take a breath from the chaos and lean into the arrival of festival season. Every single weekend there is something fun to do in Montreal with kids – June 2026 is definitely worth making your calendar even busier!

Mural Festival – June 4-14

This urban art festival takes place daily from 11am to 11pm on St Laurent Boulevard. From musical block parties to art installations, including inflatable art, this is a great opportunity to take a an inspiring stroll. Entry is free.

First Fridays – June 5-6

The food trucks are back at the Olympic Stadium for the 15th anniversary of this culinary event. The seasonal kickoff will take place over two days filled with great food, live music and a family zone. Entry is free.

Eureka Festival – June 5-7

The biggest science festival of the year takes place at Parc Jean Drapeau featuring 3 days with 150+ activities and 30 interactive shows. This year’s theme is Science in Motion, with a mission to help us better understand the world around us. Free entry.

Ormstown Fair – June 11-14

A good old fashioned agricultural fair. Head to Ormstown, about an hour south of the city, for a weekend full of entertainment. The fair features tractor pulls, demolition derbies, rides and games. Entry fees vary by the day but start at $10.

Festival sur le canal – June 19-21

Celebrate in the southwest at this festival on the Lachine Canal at the Centennial Esplanade. This community event features live musical performances on the green, food trucks. an artisan market and more. Free entry.

Jazz Festival – June 25 – July 4

The city’s biggest event starts early this year. The highlight may be the headline performance by Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire, but the best family friendly event is the Fabrique Musical Rio Tinto. Kids can play with musical installations in this interactive space in Quartier des Spectacles. Free entry.

Holi Festival and Indian Food Festival – June 27-28

This annual tradition celebrates Indian culture with a colour throwing festival where you can purchase packs of colour to kick off the fun. The festival features street food, cooking demonstrations, cultural performances, and a kids area with bouncy castles. Tickets are $25.

Hot Wheelz Festival – June 30 – July 1

This first-time festival in the Old Port will celebrate cool cars with a car show, live music, street food, local vendors, and more. Tickets range between $15-$25.
