Kids’ Holiday Gift Guide 2021
Holiday shoppers rejoice! Finding gifts for the little people in your life shouldn’t be hard with this handy kids’ holiday gift guide I’ve put together. I’ve focused on lists by age and gender that I know best – my own kids. Below you will find the best gifts for 5, ten and twelve year olds. While some gifts are gender-less others may skew more boy than girl but really match the interests of my kids best. Happy Shopping!
Gifts for a 5 Year Old (Boy)
Toy Trucks – We basically have a parking lot in our basement so we added one more garbage truck spotted at the JRC Toys warehouse sale.
Puzzles – I discovered the ultimate puzzle mecca this holiday season at Jigsaw Jungle. Visit their Montreal warehouse or order online.
Books – Every night we read 3-4 books with Leo so we added to his collection while supporting his school with Scholastic Books.
Bakugan – The must-have item on my 5 year old’s list.
Activity Books – Leo currently loves mazes and spot the difference activities so I always stock up on these at the JRC Toy sale.
Numberblocks – Math for kindergardeners is actually easy with this counting set and accompanying workbook. If you don’t know this British TV series you should defiitely check it out on Netflix.
LEGO Advent – My kids love counting down the days to the holidays with an advent calendar. You can score these early in the season at Costco.
Fyzz Bath Bombs – Shopping local is easy with these colourful bath bombs that come in a variety of fun shapes for the holidays!

Gifts for a 10 Year Old (Boy)
Funko Pop – Alex is all about collectibles this year. I picked up a few of these including this Michael Jordan one.
Books – We’ve been waiting for the release of the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book and the Guiness Book of World Records is a yearly tradition in our house. Costco is my go-to for new kids’ books.
Pokemon Celebration Box – Alex’s new favourite store is Geek & Co and his new favourite hobby is unboxing Pokemon cards. This gift paid for itself with one very valuable card!
Jumanji Board Game – An all-time favourite movie is now a board game that’s fun for the whole family.
Pokemon Funko Pop Advent Calendar – Two of his favourite things come together in this countdown box. I had to import it from the US because it was sold out in Canada but it’s available once again at Indigo.
LED Lamp & Charger – A room solution that is a lamp, LED lights and charger all in one. Spotted and purchased at Costco.
LEGO – Any set will please this age group but I recently discovered the Vidiyo collection.
Gifts for a 12 Year Old (Girl)
Personalized Duffle Bag – the perfect sleepover or weekend bag can be personalized at Bomaline, a Montreal-based chain with locations in Laval and Decarie Square.
Bubble Tea Box – Hannah is obsessed with bubble tea and now she can make her own with BobaBox which includes all the ingredients, and even the cups, lids and straws.
Star Face Skincare – A cute and effective solution to pimples (she doesn’t really have any!) I ordered her the pimple patches, face wash and travel case. They even have a Sesame Street collection.
Card Holder – Now that Hannah is taking the bus I want her to stay organized with cash and cards for schools. This beautiful Kate Spade case was picked up at the Mirabel outlets.
Gift Cards – Because let’s be honest, shopping and snacking is in her DNA. On this year’s list: Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Pharmaprix Beauty, Bath & Body Works and Ardene.
Sushi Making Kit – She loves ordering it in so why not make her own with a DIY kit found at Costco.
Hamsa Bracelet – A little sparkle goes a long way with this dainty evil eye bracelet from Le Chic Designs.
