Welcome Back Midnight Mom!
It’s been 3 years, 11 months and way too many days since my last blog post as Midnight Mom.
In that time, we’ve welcomed a new baby boy, entered the world of elementary school, watched my business grow and tackled the everyday challenges and surprises of being a family of five (plus a furry friend). It’s all been a whirlwind and while I’d like to say that it seems like forever ago since I last hit publish on a blog post, it actually feels like it was just yesterday.
“The days are long but the years are short.” My aunt, a mom of four and now Nana to seven, shared this quote with me a few weeks ago and I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind ever since. As moms, we count down the minutes until we have some “me” time and our kids are safely snuggled in their beds. After multiple water, pee and back rubbing breaks, it can seem like hours before they are finally out for the night, but when looking back at the end of a month we can’t quite seem to figure out where the past 30 days have gone!
Let alone the past eight years.
How exactly am the mother of an eight year old?! I wrote my first Midnight Mom blog post when Hannah was five months old. And today…
Hannah is eight.
Alex is six.
Leo is 18 months old.
While I can’t really tell you where the time has gone, I can tell you that I have learned a lot. And I want to share it with you. Again.
About two years ago I took Midnight Mom on to Instagram as a foray back into the world of blogging. It’s been a slow and steady climb to 4000 followers and I feel like I have so much more to share with you than just pretty photos (50% credit to Chris for his photography skills) and short one-liners. So I’m jumping back into this!
I hope you will follow along for the journey, share your mommy insights and keep me on my toes with questions to help us learn together as we take on the hardest, and most important, job in the world.
