Covid Birthday at Wow Moms World Montreal!

Covid Birthday at Wow Moms World Montreal!

I never would have thought that little Leo would celebrate both his 4th and 5th birthdays during a global pandemic. As the 3rd child we held off on throwing him a big party which means he has yet to have an actual birthday celebration with friends. So I had to get creative once again this year, topping his 4th fireman/super hero extravaganza. The planning turned out to be quite easy with some help from Wow Moms World and all the dinosaur party loot!

Private Play Space

I was invited to attend the official opening of Wow Moms World last March, just as the pandemic was starting. Like so many other businesses, it’s an amazing concept that we couldn’t take advantage of due to restrictions. A true family destination that offers amazing party packages (under normal circumstances), the Wow Play concept worked perfectly for Leo’s birthday. We reserved the play space just for our family of five ($90/hour) and it felt like Leo having his very own, private children’s museum. The Wow Play space features a mini cafĂ©, grocery store, veterinarian office, train table, slide and many other toys for imaginative play.

Family Drive By

Leo loves all things dinosaurs so picking the theme for his celebration was easy. Coordinating snacks and decor in the garage was a bit trickier though. I created a mini lemonade stand with cups and homemade labels. Grocery store cupcakes got decorated with mini dinosaurs from Michael’s and each cousin got a little take-home treat too. The amazing balloon garland from Sparkle Parties literally stopped traffic and had Leo jumping for joy when he saw his birthday setup.

The Icing on the Cake

I’m a sucker for beautiful cakes – even if my kids just lick off the frosting. After some Pinterest searches I found the perfect dinosaur cake and quickly sent a photo over to Lafrenaie bakery. They did an excellent job of recreating it with layers of rainbow cake and delicious chantilly cream.

All in all, Leo’s 5th was a success and hopefully his (and everyone’s) last at-home celebration.
