Boutique Nouluv: Montreal Baby Store
I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t shopped for baby or toddler gear in quite some time. But with many new moms around me, my usual go-to Montreal baby store from 7+ years ago no longer exists. With a little research, I discovered Boutique Nouluv, and I honestly wish it was around when my trio was little.
New Gifts, Gear & Apparel
Located in Ville Emard (and online), just south of the Super Hospital, this cute shop has a bright facade and tons of cool, local brands. I found some of my favourites like Mimitens mitts, Stonz rain suits and Cate & Levi stuffies. There were plenty of new brands to discover for cool hats, monochromatic feeding accessories, shoes, pacifiers, clothing and more. This is a great place to shop locally and sustainably. It’s what I like to call elevated kids gear; that isn’t all primary colours but rather streamlined to fit in with more modern decor. Boutique Nouluv also specializes in cloth diapers (they have a used selection as well). I personally loved some of the kitchen accessories, like these:
Preloved Clothing & Gear
Boutique Nouluv is unique to Montreal baby stores as it featured a preloved section. This is huge as little ones grow out of clothing every few months. Not only can you purchase like-new preloved clothing and shoes for sizes 0-6, you can also donate any old clothing you may have. With every donation (maximum 4 times/year), you will get 20% off preloved items and 10% off new items. Boutique Nouluv also has a used gear section. The stock changes often but you can expect to find books, toys, baby carriers and more.
There aren’t too many independent Montreal baby stores left, but when you walk into Boutique Nouluv you may be greeted by Harlie, the owner. A Montreal native and mom, she has curated an amazing collection of items for kids 0-5. Her friendly personality and knowledgeable expertise will guide you to find the perfect gift, or gear for your very own little one. And if you’re not in Montreal, or can’t make a trip out to the store, they will soon be offering Canada-wide shipping from their website (updates coming soon) and look out for drops of pre-loved clothing and high-end gear on Instagram.
