Brome Fair – August 30 – September 2
A one hour drive from Montreal, the Brome Fair is certainly worth the trip. You can experience all of the fun of a country fair with activities like a milking parlour, farm machines and a livestock competition. More mainstream entertainment includes a petting zoo, pony rides and a carnival with rides.

The Delectable Weekends of Rougemont – September 7 – October 14
Apple season is upon us and there’s no better place than the orchards of Rougemont to do some picking and tasting of local delicacies. (Unless you’re looking for organic apples – then click here.) Activities include tractor rides, musical entertainment, petting zoos and picnic areas.

Family Fun Fair – September 8
Now in it’s 8th year, this family festival is hosted by West Island Mommies and features 40 local vendors selling everything from jewelry to clothing and service providers like dance schools. An exciting schedule of kids activities includes a visit from Olaf and Peppa Pig, face painting, storytime with a princess and more.

Open House on Quebec Farms – September 8
Farms throughout the province will be opening to the public for this one-day special event. If you don’t want to venture too far from Montreal, head to the Olympic Stadium where you can milk a cow, shear a sheep, see a magic show and try some sweet corn. If you’re looking to get an authentic experience, you can filter farms on the website by their specialty with choices ranging from maple syrup to berries to wine and cider.

Fête de la Paix – September 21
This event taking place in Lachine is meant to celebrate the UN International Day of Peace by creating a space to gather in peace and in good neighbourliness. Kids will enjoy fun activities like face painting, bubble soccer, a photo booth and the parade of traditional dances. Many types of cuisines will be available for purchase.

Soap Box Derby – September 22
Watch as competitors, young and old, show off their soap box creations before the highly-anticipated derby. There will also be a helmet competition for the most original creation.

Kids Pop 2019 – September 27-29
Pop Montreal has created another weekend just for kids. On Saturday, head to Librairie Drawn + Quarterly for story time, followed by a show by the Bubble Wizards at the Rialto Theatre. On Sunday, a Family Funday will entertain kids and adults alike!
