Montreal with Kids March 2026

The days are getting brighter, and spring break has officially arrived. Soon enough, we’ll be heading to the sugar shack to usher in spring the Montreal way. Whether you’re planning a getaway or a staycation this month, our local social calendar is packed with activities and events. Discover all that Montreal with Kids March 2026 has to offer in this month’s edition.

Spring Break at Pointe-à-Callière Museum – February 28 – March 6

The Sherlock Holmes exhibit launched at this museum earlier this winter, and now it is the theme of their March break activities. Every day from 11 am to 4 pm, the museum will be offering free indoor and outdoor interactive activities that are equal parts science, history and heritage. Expect lots of problem-solving and detective work.

Oasis Immersion – Carnival of Animals – All Month

This exhibit at Palais de Congrès is designed for children between the ages of 2-12, and their adults, to discover a futuristic world. This immersive exhibit uses visuals and audio to tell a story featuring a cast of characters who are half animal, half musical instruments. The entire experience lasts 70 minutes, and tickets start at $23.

Indigo Spring Play Days – March 1-7

Various Indigo bookstore locations across the province will be offering daily spring break activities at 11 am or 1 pm. Each day has a different themed free workshop, including origami, LEGO, t-shirt decorating, friendship bracelet making and more. Reservations required online.

Bota Bota Pirate Layover – March 2-6

If you’re on spring break too, you deserve a little relaxation. If you have a teen between the ages of 12-17 years old, you can bring them to Old Montreal’s floating spa any day between 9 am-1 pm. Access to teens will exclusively be available this week. Enjoy the water circuit at reduced pricing and participate in workshops focused on relaxation breathing techniques.

Place des Arts Spring Break – March 4-7

More free spring break activities are being held at the theatre for kids 3-10 years old. Every day between 12 pm and 3 pm, magic shows, circus workshops, cooking classes and other fun activities are on the itinerary. Plus, face painting, scavenger hunts and a reading corner are always available. The OSM is also hosting some activities as part of their spring break programming.

Gymnix – March 4-8

Canada’s largest gymnastics competition is coming to Montreal, featuring more than 1200 athletes. The 5-day event will take place at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex, with males and females competing at all ages and levels. On Wednesday, there will be a special behind-the-scenes tour for aspiring gymnasts to tour the competition areas and try out the equipment.

Disney on Ice Jump In! – March 5-8

Back at the Bell Centre, this event is a true sign of spring’s arrival! With multiple English shows taking place, this year’s performance features Mickey and Minnie plus characters from Moana, Toy Story, Encanto, Frozen and Inside Out. Tickets start at $23.

&Juliet – March 17-22

Broadway comes to Montreal this month with the not-so-classic story of Romeo & Juliet, told from her perspective. I saw this show in NYC a few years ago, and its epic pop soundtrack makes it a show for the entire family. Some more mature scenes categorize it for 8+, which I agree with. Tickets start at $65 (and in my opinion are well worth it!)

Cabane Panache – March 19-22

Now in its 14th edition, Verdun’s Promenade Wellington brings the sugar shack to the city. 18 local restaurants will be serving up local, seasonal dishes. The closed-to-traffic street will be transformed into an outdoor playground with a cabana a sucre, fun activities including performances by Montreal Complement Cirque, and live music.

Outdoor Adventure Show – March 28-29

Taking place at Palais des Congrès, this consumer trade show will feature travel and adventure sports exhibitors to inspire your next getaway or outdoor activity. It is especially kid-friendly (entry for kids 11 and under is free) with a treasure hunt activity complete with a passport to be stamped throughout the show and a prize at the end.
