Montreal with Kids October 2025

Montreal with Kids October 2025

The leaves may just be beginning to change colours but we’ve been enjoying a late summer up until now. But you don’t have to look very far – like the shelves at Dollarama – to know that Halloween is coming. That means that the October events calendar is filled with pumpkins, harvest-themed outings and lots of costumes and candy. Here’s my go-to list of things to do in Montreal with kids, October 2025 edition.

Halloween Shivers – October 1-31

The Botanical Gardens is celebrating Halloween throughout the month with two witches hiding through the exhibits who put on spooky shows every day of the week. The Gardens will feature a collection of spooky plants and the fun outdoor maze is perfect for younger kids. While you’re there, plan to stay a little longer into dusk to visit the Gardens of Light for an extra fee.

La Ronde Fright Fest – October 4-26

Our favourite amusement park becomes an open-air haunted house on weekends throughout the entire month, plus Friday, October 24th. You can expect scary zones like the Clown Carnage and over 100 characters roaming the park. The Kids Pumpkin Festival is a bit less scary and still features access to all of the rides, plus family-friendly shows.

Pick a Peck of Pumpkins – October 4 – November 9

This annual event at Chateau Ramezay in Old Montreal features a pumpkin scavenger hunt with activities along the way and a special prize at the end. There are two versions for 4-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds.

Science Workshops at Jean Talon Market – October 11

The Jean Talon Market will be hosting Technoscience région métropolitaine for a special science event taking place at either 1pm or 2:30pm. The activity is free and geared to kids 6-12 years old. While you’re at the market, why not pick up your pumpkin(s) too!

Salon de la Nature – October 18-19

This special event takes place at Ahuntsic College and brings together Halloween and all things nature. Guests will receive special treats if they wear a costume, while discovering insects, fossils, shells, minerals, and other rare and unique items. Admission is $8-$16.

Stroll for Kids – October 19

This annual fundraising event is taking place at Le Andover in Mont Royal. The morning will feature entertainment from great local activity providers like Mad Science, STEM Inventor, Princess Party, Reptizoo and more. There will also be local delicacies for lunch. The event raises funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and families must raise $275 to participate.

Saint Sauveur Monster Party – October 25

Parc FUN at the ski hill will be hosting a special Halloween themed event from 11am-9pm. The day will feature activities like pumpkin decorating, face painting, bounce houses and more. There will be a best costume contest too. Entry is free but there’s a fee for rides.

The Art of the Brick – Until November

This special exhibit kicked off in September and features more than a million bricks, creating over 130 works of art. Just some examples include Michelangelo’s David, Van Gogh’s Starry Night, and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. There’s a special play area for kids at the event, which is located on Ste Catherine Street near Bleury. Entry is $19 for kids and $30 for adults.
